Have you ever noticed how slow walking feels when you get used to riding a bike? Travel is so much better on two wheels! You can spin your way over mountains, across deserts, through rainforests. You can park up at cool cafes for a quick coffee & pastry or fancy restaurants for a long lunch – and you can do it guilt free because you’ve just burnt your calories getting there. Two wheel travel is in my opinion the best way to see the world.
This site is about great places to travel by bike and even better places to eat along the way. My blog reflects what it is really like to travel on the road – like how much it hurts to climb Mont Ventoux…but how good the pasta & aperol spritz tastes at the end! So come on my journey with me, and I hope I can inspire you to jump on the bike & get out there and explore.
A bit about me….
I’m Laura. I’m a part time digital marketer, part time travel blogger from Sydney. I got in to cycling in 2010 when I realised my dodgy knee injury would no longer let me play netball or run or do the sports I used to do for fitness. That year my husband who was already a cycling fanatic, gave me a choice for my birthday present – a surprise, or a road bike. I absolutely hate surprises (and he knows it) so I chose the bike. I’ve never looked back. We’ve started to travel the world together on our roadies, and the list of places to see gets longer every day. We have recently bought touring bikes which is taking us even further.
Four things I love in life are:
Discovering new places
Eating delicious food
Feeling fit & healthy
Sharing my adventures with my friends
So that’s what this blog is about. If you want to chat about my travels or have questions about an upcoming trip you are planning and want some advice, feel free to drop me an email, or connect with me on Facebook or Instagram. See you out there!
